What is the difference between combed cotton and regular cotton towels?
The difference is in the fiber preparation — and it shows up in everything from softness to durability.
Regular cotton (sometimes called carded cotton) goes through a basic cleaning process to remove debris, but it does not sort fibers by length. Short fibers remain in the yarn, creating rough spots, weaker points, and more lint.
Combed cotton goes through an additional step: a combing machine that removes short fibers and impurities, leaving only fibers of uniform length. The result is a smoother, stronger, and more consistent yarn.
